2025 Winners
ADE presented its Annual Awards at a gala dinner in London on Wednesday night showcasing the best in energy systems and technologies which will lead the way to a lower carbon, lower cost future for consumers. The event, sponsored by E.ON, Bevan Brittan and InstaGroup, celebrated industry excellence with several winners on the night.
The ADE Heat Networks Award was won by Last Mile Heat, a joint venture between Last Mile and Rendesco, for their pioneering new heat network development at Welborne Garden Village - the UK’s largest ambient water-source heat network. The development provides low-carbon heat, cooling and hot water to 700 homes and community buildings which will eventually expand to 6000 homes. The system delivers exceptional efficiency, reducing CO₂ emissions by 80% versus gas, demonstrating a regulation-ready solution for net zero development.
The judging panel also recognised the Greater London Authority’s Local Energy Accelerator for supporting more than 40 major energy projects across the capital through expert advice and funding, helping London advance toward its ambitious decarbonisation goals.
The ADE Demand Award went to AMP Clean Energy for another UK first. Their innovative energy centre at Simpsons Malt in Berwick-upon-Tweed uses a flexible electric boiler and biomass to convert surplus wind power into industrial heat. This integrated, whole system approach decarbonises heat at a major industrial site by ensuring that renewable energy generation is used and not lost, saving 25,000 tonnes of carbon each year.
In a celebration of inclusion, the ADE Leadership in Diversity Award was presented by Baroness Harriet Harman to CubeLynx for its pioneering work supporting neurodiversity in the energy workforce. CubeLynx employs and empowers autistic financial modellers, unlocking a vast, often overlooked talent pool. Beyond recruitment, the company champions neurodiversity awareness through high-profile advocacy at the House of Commons, the Scottish National Investment Bank, and the Office of Rail and Road.
Finally, there were two winners of the ADE’s Rising Star Award this year: Simran Chaggar, Senior Engineer at FairHeat, and Isabelle Macfarlane, Contracts Manager at Ener-Vate. Both were recognised as making important contributions not only to their workplaces but also to their wider communities.
Caroline Bragg, CEO of ADE said “A huge congratulations to all our incredible winners. Each of them is helping to transform the UK’s energy landscape with bold, practical innovations in heat and demand. It was fantastic to bring the industry together for a night that celebrated excellence, creativity and the drive toward a lower-carbon future.”
